I'm Interested in Progressing My iPGCE

You've earned 60 Master's-level credits through your iPGCE. Now find out how to carry those credits toward a full Masters (MA), or use your iPGCE as a springboard into QTS / iQTS or Assessment-Only QTS — without leaving the classroom.

Three ways to progress your iPGCE

Your iPGCE is the launchpad — here's where it can take you next with the right university partner.

Route 1

Top up to a full Masters (MA)

Carry your 60 Level 7 iPGCE credits into a 180-credit MA Education or MA Educational Leadership — typically one to two more years of part-time online study.

Route 2

QTS / iQTS

Build on your iPGCE with the International Qualified Teacher Status (iQTS) route where eligible — earning the UK's recognised teaching licence, strengthening your qualified-teacher status internationally.

Route 3

Assessment-Only QTS

If you're already an experienced teacher, your iPGCE can support an Assessment-Only QTS application — demonstrating your readiness for the UK's Qualified Teacher Status licence without further training.

Teacher Pathways is free for teachers. We are funded through referral commissions from some university and training-provider partners when a teacher enrols through Teacher Pathways. This commission never increases your tuition fee — you pay the same as any other applicant. We will always identify a commercial partner before you request an application link.
